Mother's Door

Written by Paul Elksnis

We have no times for thoughtless ways,
For minds that fail to care for days,
And nights are used for beating thin,
A mind that's barely broken in,
A passion for distructiveness:
An attitude that can't care less,
Where to live on Earth this must be wrong,
For surely we do not belong?

Then why is it that we so treat,
A home for some is so complete?
A bird that freely roams the skies,
A stalking beast with watchful eye,
A dolphin playing in the seas,
A seed that's carried on the breeze.

And one day this will all be gone,
But will we know what we have done?
One thing's for sure I do not doubt:
It's us this world can do without!
